Ok so it's not like the Mets really needed this home run to beat the Yankees yesterday but it would've been nice for the struggling Carlos Delgado. I guess when you are struggling, everything seems to go wrong.
Anyway, it was the fourth inning of the Yankees and Mets game and Carlos Delgado his a shot that flew to left field and bounced off the pole. Initially it was ruled a home run but then the call was reversed by home plate ump Bob Davidson.
After reviewing it he realized that he fucked up and he was the first to admit it:
"I ----ed it up. I'm the one who thought it was a ---- foul ball. I saw it on the replay. I'm the one who ----ed it up so you can put that in your paper," Davidson told reporters. "Bolts and nuts, I ----ed up. You've just got to move on. No one feels worse about it than I do."
Savor this people. It's not often that you see one of the blind mice (AKA Umpires/Refs) admit when they blow a call. Props to Davidson for manning up.
