The NHL is more popular than the NBA somewhere

Detroit has two of the premier teams in their sports. Hockey and Basketball and with both of their teams still playing now in late May, the competition between them for TV ratings is under the spotlight.

Surprisingly, hockey won out. Now it is the Stanley Cup Finals compared to the Eastern conference championship so it isn't exactly on the same level but even so.

Pittsburgh’s 3-2 win on Wednesday night earned a 2.8 national rating and an 18.2 rating in Detroit, beating out the 15.9 rating for the Pistons’ matchup with the Boston Celtics.

Game 5 of the NBA’s Eastern Conference finals drew a 5.3 national rating.

Game 3 was the highest rated Stanley Cup final game since 2002. Is Hockey on the comeback? Ehhhh... I doubt it.
