Ridiculous LeBron James dunk against the Celtics

Check out this ridiculous dunk from last nights game by LeBron James.  No further words need to be said.

If the Cavs go on to win this series, this will be considered a classic dunk for all time.  NBA classic shows will show this 20 years from now.  Hell, they’ll probably do it anyway.

LeBron James and Dwight Howard have a block party

LeBron James and Dwight Howard had two different results in each of their games yesterday but at least they both managed to get some pretty sick blocks.

In the Cavs and Celtics matchup, the Cavs hme court advantage helped them out tremendously.  The Celtics were never really in the game.

In this play, Rajon Rondo gets a fast break and tries to go in for the “easy” layup.  LeBron comes out of nowhere and well… watch the video….

Dwight Howard’s squad fell to the Pistons yesterday but it wasn’t from lack of defensive intensity from Dwight.  Check out this sick block by Dwight.

LeBron James misses another late game shot

During last years playoff series and the start of this year, LeBron James was making a name for himself as a late game closer, something he hadn’t been able to do much of in the past. Now he is playing like his old self, missing close shots that would either win of tie the game in the playoffs.

During the Cavs game last night against the Celtics, LeBron clanked the game tying shot. What had happened wuz!!?!

Hawks/Celtics game 7 was comparable to a bar fight

So the Hawks and Celtics round 1 matchup was a hard fought one.  The Hawks said die even when they were down 0-2.  Despite their best efforts they couldn’t take one game in Boston and the Celtics ended the series convincingly yesterday.

Tensioned boiled over as the Hawks were getting their asses handed to them and Marvin Williams took it out on Rajon Rondo in a big way.

Kevin Garnett also got in on the action, dropping Zaza Pachulia

Hawks force a game 7: Can they actually pull off the upset?

The Hawks have done a decent job in their bid to be this years Golden State Warriors.  They’ve given the leagues best team all they can handle and last night was no exception.  The Hawks again beat the Celtics at home 103-100 to force a pivotal game 7 in Boston.

During the game, Paul Pierce fouled out and he wasn’t too happy about but at least he didn’t throw up any gang signs.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMQx3pav9-c]

His face when he was on the bench was classic.

Here are the final seconds of game 6 and how it unfolded.

Zaza Pachulia is making a name for himself in these playoffs and he still found time to thank the fans after their win.

Celtics/Hawks Game 4 Altercation: Zaza Pachulia decides to go toe-to-toe with KG

Ok so things are getting really testy in the Hawks and Celtics series and it seems to be working in the Hawks favor. They have tied the series with the Celtics (who many people expected to win in a sweep) and they are definitely getting into the head of the leagues best team.

Whether or not they can put it all together and be this years Golden St Warriors, I dunno, but they already had a moral victory in this one, if that counts for anything. In this video Zaza Pachulia (who?) goes toe to toe with Kevin Garnett and he shows that the Hawks aren’t gonna be backed down easily.

Al Horford fucking with Paul Pierce, not a good idea

Al Horford taunted a fallen Paul Pierce during the final minute of a Hawks win over the Celtics on Saturday night.

You can’t really call it a rookie mistake just yet because Paul Pierce hasn’t made him pay yet but I’m willing to bet money that he will.

NBA Wrap: Sixers shock the Celtics, Odom’s late layup wins it for the Lakers, Billups sets the Suns

iguodala_032508.jpgSixers 95 – Celtics 90

The Celtics were up in the fourth quarter of this game with a comfortable 80-69 lead with 8:20 to play. This is one of the NBA’s top teams and you would expect that they would be able to close out the deal in against an under .500 squad. No one told that to the Sixers though.

Andre Iguodala’s lead the Sixers comeback as he scored 10 straight points in their 19-0 run that put them up for good in this one. The final score was 95-90 in favor of the Sixers.

The Sixers are over .500 for the first time this season and are looking to make a playoff run. The top teams need to keep an eye on these teams that are hungry for the playoffs. They will come in your house and beat you.

Lakers 123 – Warriors 119

The Lakers got a little bit of revenge for their loss to the Warriors last night.  After losing at home to the Warriors, the Lakers went up to Oakland to beat the Warriors in their house in overtime last night.

Kobe Bryant had 30 points with 23 of them coming in the second half and overtime but he wasn’t the story in this one.  Wow, thats gotta be a first, the Lakers win and Kobe isn’t the story but Lamar Odom really stepped his game up in this one scoring 23 points and grabbing 21 rebounds.  His layup in overtime with 9 seconds left clinched the 123-119 win over the Warriors.

Suns 105 – Pistons 110

The Suns have been in need of some good backup guards for a minute.  They finally feel like they may have them in Rodney Stuckey and Arron Afflalo.  With Rip Hamilton out of this one, both of the young guys stepped up with Afflalo playing some tight defense on Steve Nash and Stuckey getting some key offense in the second half and overtime.  They were exactly what the Pistons needed last night.

The Pistons beat the Suns 110-105 to end their seven game win streak and make the Suns trip to the East even harder.  Their next game is Wednesday against the Celtics.

NBA Wrap: Celtics > Texas, Lakers snap Jazz home win streak, Spurs rout the Bulls

allen_032108.jpgCeltics 94 – Mavericks 90

The Celtics became the first team since the Kings in 2001 to sweep all of the Texas teams on a single road trip. First they gave the Spurs their first home loss in six weeks, then they snapped the Rockets 22 game win streak, and last night they beat the Mavs last night 94-90.

In last nights game, Ray Allen hit a huge shot with 31 seconds left to beat help the Celtics to top the Mavs. It was the first time in a minute that all of the three stars for the Celtics were in the starting lineup. Ray Allen finished with 21 points in 31 minutes. Paul Pierce scored 22 and had a season-high 13 rebounds. Kevin Garnett added 20 and 13.

Lakers 106 – Jazz 95

The Jazz were on a roll at home. Winning 19 consecutive home games and holding the best home record in the league. The Lakers came in last night unconcerned with their streak and took the win 106-95.

The Lakers jumped out of the gates early, hitting 9 of their first 10 shots and ended the first quarter with a 20 point lead. They never let the crowd get into the game and held off a late Jazz run to get the win.

Kobe Bryant finished the game with 27 points and this play where he makes a over the back pass and goes on to start reppin his squad. Haters commence.

Spurs 102 – Bulls 80

The Spurs were on a four game losing streak? Thats right, the defending champions. Sound the alarms, oh wait nevermind, they were playing the Bulls last night.

The Spurs came into Chi -town playing some of their worst ball of Tim Duncan’s career but playing the Bulls was just what they needed to get back on track. Tim Duncan led the way with 22 and 10 helped the Spurs to 102-80 stomping.

NBA Wrap: Rockets streak ended, Nuggets get romped by the Pistons, Lakers one shot away from losing

paulpierce_080318.jpgCeltics 94 – Rockets 74

If your gonna lose to anyone, it might as well be the best team in the league. Kevin Garnett lead the way for the Celtics in their late second half push with 22 points. The Celtics outscored the Rockets 32-16 the third quarter and didn’t look back, beating the Rockets 94-74.

The Rockets 22 game win streak was snapped with this loss. This was their first loss in nearly two months when they lost to the Jazz at home on January 27th.

The Celtics did a good job of stopping Tracy McGrady in this one. T-mac started out with 6 points in the first quarter but had just 2 points for the rest of the game to finish with 8 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Tough game for him but he isn’t worried about it. Which he shouldn’t be.

After the game, Kevin Garnett shot down the comments of his former GM Glen Taylor.

Pistons 136 – Nuggets 120

There was good news and bad news for the Nuggets last night. Against one of the leagues top defensive teams, they managed to score 120 points. The bad news is that they gave up 136 points. The Pistons topped the Nuggets (which they usually do) 136-120.

If only the Nuggets could play the Sonics every night.

Lakers 102 – Mavericks 100

The Lakers almost managed to blow a 25 point lead in this one but they didn’t. Dirk Nowitzki missed the 3 pointer that would’ve given the Mavs the win at the buzzer. The Lakers won this won 102-100 in the end despite being outscored 62-45 in the second half.

Kobe Bryant scored 29 points in this and had a nifty spinning layup thingy.
