Celtic fan runs across fenway: The Celtics are still gonna lose

celtics fan

So the Celtics and the Lakers NBA finals start tomorrow but yesterday at Fenway Park in Boston during the Red Sox game, another fan ran across the field. Only this time he was sporting a Celtics jersey to show his pride.

He seems like he was a little bit more athletic than the other guy and he didn't suffer the same fate, fortunately for him. He actually made some moves out there that would've made Randy Moss look bad.

He had the guys diving at him and everything yet he made it to the other side. Nice.

Thanks to Busted Coverage for puttin me up on this one.

Rasheed Wallace fined for criticizing the Refs

So let me get this straight. The media goes to Rasheed Wallace, asks him his opinion on the game, he is honest says how he felt but because of that he gets fined.

Detroit’s Rasheed Wallace was fined $25,000 Thursday by the NBA for using profanity and criticizing the officiating after a playoff game the night before.

After the Pistons’ 106-102 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, Wallace went on an expletive-laced rant targeting officials Mike Callahan and Kenny Mauer.

“The cats are flopping all over the floor and they’re calling that,” Wallace said. “That ain’t basketball out there. It’s all entertainment. You all should know that.”

It may have been emotional because the game had just finished but he was honest and the league obviously agreed with him because the next day they announced that they are finally gonna crack down on flopping.

Mark Jackson references Beyonce in game 5

During last nights game between the Celtics and the Pistons Rajon Rondo pulled off a pretty nice crossover and everyones favorite baller turned announcer Mark Jackson makes a reference to Beyonce, is he trying to say something?

Kendrick Perkins: “fuck these fools”

During last nights game between the Pistons and the Celtics, The Celtics were down in the fourth quarter and the C's forward Kendrick Perkins made a decent play.  In an attempt to fire up the team he blurts out "Fuck these fools," with the cameras right there.  Too bad it didn't even work.

Kevin Garnett chats with Bill Russell: This is some pretty inspirational shit

During halftime of yesterdays Celtics/Pistons game, ABC showed part 2 of an conversation between Kevin Garnett and the Celtics legend Bill Russell. I missed the first part of the interview but I've seen it now (thanks youtube).

This is a pretty inspirational conversation.

NBA Wrap: Celtics snatch back home court advantage

celtics0525081.jpg

After the Celtics lost game 2, all they had to hear about was how they hadn't won a game on the playoffs yet. They insisted that they weren't concerned about it that they could win a game on the road. Well they did and they picked a pretty good time to get their first one on the road.

Kevin Garnett started out slow because of foul trouble but ended up leading the way for the Celtics with 22 points in their 94-80 win over the Pistons in game 3. The Celtics are now up 2-1 in the series.

On a side note, Rodney Stuckey is starting to play better and better for the Pistons. Chauncey Billups had a very poor game and Stuckey picked up the slack as best as he could with 17 points.

NBA Wrap: Pistons take one in Boston

pistons052308.jpg

Pistons 103 - Celtics 97: So theres good news and bad news for the Celtics after game 2. The good news is Ray Allen seems to have gotten out of his shooting slump. He had 25 points in game 2 which was his highest output in about 3 months.

The bad news for the Celtics is after their 103-97 loss to the Pistons at home, the Pistons now have home court advantage. The Celtics have managed to make it this far without winning any road games but if they want to make it to the playoffs, they are going to have to win at least one game in Detroit.

Now this isn't an impossible feat for the Celtics because they had the best road record in the league during the regular season including a win in Detroit but they will need to do that again and in the playoffs they are 0-6 on the road. They couldn't even beat the Hawks in Atlanta.

It's time for them to man up.

NBA Wrap: Pierce plays just a little better than James… Celtics moving on

pierce051908.jpg

Cavs 92 - Celtics 97:  Yesterdays game between the Cavs and the Celtics to decide the series will definitely go down as a classic game 7. The Celtics led for the whole game but the Cavs never gave up.

LeBron James wouldn't let his team die, he didn't get much help from his team though. It was all because of the effort of Paul Pierce that the Celtics were able to move on though. LeBron James finished with 45 point and Paul Pierce was right there with 41 points. They each had performances in for the ages.

In the end, Pierce and the C's were a little bit too much for LeBron James and the scrubs. The final was 97-92, Celtics.

Check out this video that features Pierces great performance.

NBA Wrap: Lakers moving on

lakers-jazz051608.jpg

Lakers 108 - Jazz 105:  The Lakers are moving on the Western Conference finals and they even gave Kobe Bryant some extra time to rest his ailing back, he didn't look like he needed it yesterday though.

The league MVP finished the game with 34 points, 12 of which came in the all important fourth quarter.

The Lakers were up big for most of the game. They led by 19 at halftime and 16 after the third but in the fourth quarter the Jazz came back to close the game. With 1 minute left the Jazz had pulled it to within 2 points but the Lakers held on for the close 108-105 win.

The Jazz almost managed to tie it.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ2bkbqi7qU]

Close isn't good enough though.

Celtics 69 - Cavs 74: The Celtics are really confusing me right now. How does a team go from being the best road team in the league to not winning one road game in the playoffs yet. I don't know but Cavs continued their road woes last night by beating the Celtics at home 74-69.

Normally I wouldn't think that 74 points would be enough to get a win in the playoffs but apparently it is and when your star scores a good chunk of that it helps. LeBron James had 32 points in this one to lead the Cavs to the win.
