Here is a video of talking about how Bretty Favre still has the "itch" to play (is he sure it isn't crabs?).

Seriously though, Brett had a great career, one of legend and he should probably go ahead and get a job at ESPN or CBS or something.

Daily Fix: Crime doesn’t pay… does that mean my job is a crime?

Bretty Favre to grace the cover of Madden 2009

favremaddencover2.jpg

It's been announced that Brett Favre will be the coverboy for Madden 2009. Thats whats up.

Thats a great tribute to the recently retired legend. He deserves it but I have a couple of questions.

Since he is on the cover, does that mean that he is going to play next year?

If he doesn't decide to play, does that mean that he will still be affected by the Madden Curse?

Btw, I don't know if this is the real cover or not. :-/

Brett Favre comeback? He’s thinking about it

favre-comeback.jpgSo it's possible that we may see Brett Favre lace em up again for the Packers. He claims that he has no plans on returning but that if the Packers need him to return due to injury or if the situation is right then he might return (he'll be back).

Here's an excerpt from the LA Times article:

"I guess my best response would be, right now no," Favre told the Sun-Herald in Biloxi, Miss., when asked if he's coming back. He spoke to sportswriter Al Jones, who is working with him on a book foreword.

But Favre conceded he might have a tough decision to make if, say, Green Bay called and asked him to come back because of team injuries.

"It would be hard to pass up, I guess," he said. "But three months from now, say that presents itself, I may say, 'You know what, I'm so glad I made that decision. I feel very comfortable in what I'm doing and my decision.'

"Yeah, I can probably be up there doing that and playing, but again, I don't know. It's only speculating. I think the world of that team. I had a lot of fun, not only this year, but over my career. Those guys I played with this past year, a lot of young guys, a lot of fun."

Saying that his Packers replacement, Aaron Rodgers, has "fallen into a great situation," Favre added: "And if that opportunity presented itself and they did call, it would be tempting. And I very well could be enticed to do it."

Something tells me that we will see Favre again. He says that he doesn't have plans to return but thats what Michael Jordan said too, then he wore number 45. I don't know who Favre thinks he's fooling. He will be back next year. At this rate, Aaron Rodgers will retire before he does.

Brett Favre’s emotional retirement press conference

Who knows if we will ever see #4 lace em up ever again but if this is it, Thanks to Brett for everything.  I have tons of respect for Brett Favre even though I have never been a Packers fan.

Brett Favre is riding out

brett-favre-retiring.jpgAccording to Foxsports, Green Bay Packers great, Brett Favre is calling it a career.  Barring any last minute changes of heart (which Brett Favre has been known to do), it will be a wrap for his 17 year career.

Favre will be leaving after one of his better seasons, passing for 4,155 yards, 28 touchdowns and breaking numerous records last season.

Favre leaves the game as the NFL's all-time record holder in wins, passing yards, touchdowns, interceptions and consecutive games started by a quarterback.  He also has three MVP awards to his credit.

We've witnessed one of the best to ever do it and if this really is it, thanks Brett for all the memories.  Even though I have never been a Packers fan, I was always entertained by Favre and his love for the game and it's sad to see him go.

Ryan Grant blunders early but redeems himself in a big way

favre-seattle.jpgSo as this game started, you could tell that it wasn't gonna be like most games. The snow was coming down and as the game went on it only got worse and worse. Thats kind of like what the day was like for the Seahawks.

They got off to a fast start forcing Ryan Grant in two fumbles in the first couple of minutes of the game. The Seahawks jumped all over the opportunity scoring two straight touchdowns to go up 14-0 early in Lambeau Field. Uh-oh, could the Seahawks come into Lambeau and beat the favored Packers? Could they possibly pull off the big upset.....?...... No.

Brett Favre and Ryan Grant weren't intimidated whatsoever. They went off to score 5 straight touchdowns. Ouch. Ryan Grant made up for his early mistakes by gaining 201 yards are the ground and accounting for 3 touchdowns. Not a bad way to respond.

Ryan Grant's day not only gave him some confidence after starting the game out horribly but his 201 yards and 3 touchdowns are all franchise playoff records. Not bad for you first playoff game eh? This production helped them pull off an offensive avalanche that was comparable to the avalanche of snow that was coming down by the end of the game. It got really bad towards the end which worked in their favor being up so big because Seattle couldn't really get the passing game going and their running game was stifled as well.

NFL Wrap: Ladainian Tomlinson shines on MNF, Favre and Anderson come back down to earth, Patriots = 15-0

lt.jpg L.T. proves he's the best

Ladainian Tomlinson took the rushing lead in Monday Nights win over the Broncos. The Chargers also took the game from the Broncos, blowing them out 23-3. The Broncos have fallen hard.

In the beginning of the game it looked like it was gonna be a tough game when John Lynch hit Tomlinson on a 2 yard run in the beginning of the game and knocked his helmet off. Afterwards, he got gully and took the helmet and tossed it 10 yards and got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

"I thought it was going to be that kind of a night, where even the good guys turn to bad guys,"
-Tomlinson

Tomlinson replied by having 107 rushing yards on just 19 carries and 1 touchdown and made Broncos defenders look silly all night. With previous rushing leader Willie Parker injured, Tomlinson passed him for the rushing lead and going into the last week, looks like he is going to finish the season as the rushing leader.

The Chargers looked good tonight but they made too many errors to win a game against a playoff team. They need to clean up some of their mistakes if they expect to beat the Patriots or the Colts in the playoffs.

Pats go to 15-0

No surprises here.  The Patriots beat the Dolphins 28-7 at Gillette Stadium on Sunday ending their longest win streak of the season.  1 win.  While the Patriots became the first team in NFL history to become 15-0 in a season.

With one game left the Patriots have a chance to set more records.  They can potentially become the highest scoring team in NFL history.  Randy Moss and Tom Brady also have a chance to set individual TD marks.

So as we continue to watch cheaters prevail it makes us wonder.  Should we have taken the evil genius Bill Belichick more seriously when he was teaching us how to make peanut butter and jelly.

Bears all over Packers 35-7

Brett Favre had to be brought back down to earth on Sunday. Brian Urlacher certainly did his part to help that happen. Check out Brian Urlacher's 85 yard pick 6.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4s_3jG4CAg]

Wow... He looked exhausted after that.

The offense sort of helped in the blowout. They scored two touchdowns but it was mainly the Bears defense and special teams that won them the game. This sort of reminded us of why they went to the Super Bowl last year. If only they could've played like that all year.

This loss gives the Cowboys home field advantage in the playoffs so we will see how this affects the Packers down the line.

Browns hurt playoff chances

All the Browns had to do to make it to the playoffs was to win. Now they're great year may be for nothing if they don't make the playoffs. They laid an egg against the Bengals who they beat in a shootout earlier this year.

This loss combined with the Titans win means that the if the Titans win next week at Indy they will be in the playoffs. If they lose than the Browns will be in. Regardless of what the Browns do. I almost forgot about the Titans but they may just sneak into the playoffs.

Around The League

NFL Wrap: The Cowboys take out Favre and the Packers

Brett Favre came into this game with an 0-8 Record against Dallas and his losing streak continued in this one with the Cowboys defeating the Packers 37-27. The downpoint of the game for Favre was in the second quarter when he was hit as he was throwing by Nathan Jones and was also intercepted on the play. That may not have been so bad but he was also hurt in the process and did not return.

Aaron Rodgers replaced Favre. He struggled a bit on the first drive but in the end he showed that he was worth being drafted in the first round. Rodgers played stellar, going 18-26 for 201 yards and a TD. He also rushed for a few key first downs.

Tony Romo and Terrell Owens had monster games though both coming up with big plays. Romo went 19-30 for 309 yards and 4 TD's while Owens had 7 catches for 156 yards and a touchdown. It would have been two touchdowns if it wasn't for one of the stranger plays I've seen. Tony Romo found Owens wide open in the end zone. Owens bobbled the pass and somehow gave it right to Al Harris. This one out.

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=R8Mm1YRPZtQ]

That would've put them up by ten points with about 8 minutes to go and with the interception the Packers still had hope. However, Romo and the Cowboys weren't trying to hear it. They came up big on both ends of the ball in the fourth to take the game.

The game definitely lived up to the hype. Favre's status is day to day at this point but their next game is 10 days away so I expect Favre to be able to play.

Before the game there was a moment of silence in the arena for the Redskins Sean Taylor. Every player had a number 21 on their helmet which every player in the league will this year.

Packers vs Cowboys: Who is this game more important for?

terrell_owens.jpgTonights big matchup between the Cowboys and the Packers is by far the biggest game in the NFC. If you can see it. The NFL network is offering this game but it is only available with satellite companies and certain cable companies. The cable companies that offer this channel offer it on a higher tier of service, and guess what? It costs more money. More of cable companies monopoly but don't get me started on that.

Back to the actual game. This game has huge playoff implications for both teams. Both teams are 10-1, leading their division and have home fields that would be tough to win at in the playoffs. This is probably the second most important game of the year (after Colts vs Patriots). Whoever wins this game gets a huge advantage because they will basically go two games up on the other for first place in the NFC. No one wants to go to Lambeau in January and I don't see the Cowboys being able to beat them there. Just like I don't see Brett Favre and the Pack beating the Cowboys if his losing streak there continues.

Brett Favre has never won in Texas stadium going 0 for 8 including the playoffs but whats in the past is in the past. The Packers come in with one of the toughest defenses in the league despite the fact that they may be without as many as five defensive starters including former pro bowler Charles Woodson. Thats gonna be big because the Cowboys are getting receiver Patrick Crayton back. That should take some of the pressure off of Terrell Owens and Jason Witten.

I'm taking the Packers in this game. It is a game time decision for Charles Woodson but I think he's gonna go and if he does that should limit the amount of big plays for the cowboys because him and Al Harris are two of the most physical receivers in the League. Brett Favre is playing better than he has since he did the year they won the superbowl and the Cowboys secondary is also banged up. Look for Favre to exploit that.

Hopefully you can see this game but if not, do what I'm doing. Call your cable company, order the channel and then remove it after the game is over. The way most companies charge you, you may get prorated for one day of the service but not likely.
