Ryan Leaf Being Investigated for Drug Allegation

Published by houroc under College Sports, Football

Remember Ryan Leaf? The biggest NFL bust in recent memory, maybe ever? He was always known have a lot of off the field issues but he seemed to be getting things together by working as an assistant coach at Texas A & M, even though they are 4-5. I’m sure he has nothing to do with that…

Anyway, he is being investigated by police for potential possession of pain killers obtained illegally.

AP – Canyon police Chief Bobby Griffin says the investigation is in its preliminary stages, but confirmed the allegation was that Leaf obtained a controlled substance by fraudulent means.

“We are trying to determine whether anything like that happened,” Griffin said. “There is not enough information or facts to say we have a crime being committed or not.”

“Some allegations have been made and some rumors are flying around. We’ve been asked … to look into it,” said Griffin, who declined to say why police began the investigation.

I’m gonna go ahead and give Ryan Leaf the benefit of the doubt on this one even though it probably isn’t a bad idea for someone who has had as many failures as him to medicate himself somehow. He should smoke instead though. :-D

it seems like people assume Ryan Leaf is going to screw up before it actually happens… but i guess this is mostly his own doing

Well to update you on this story, he resigned today… I don’t know if he just didn’t want to get anymore bad press to the aggies or if he was guilty but either way hes out
