The NHL needs more games like this. The NHL is by far the lowest rated of the four major sports in America. Even though the game is pretty meaningless it was awesome to see the game played outdoors in Buffalo in January. There was snow which added to the whole atmosphere.
Sidney Crosby shined in the outdoor game, scoring the game winning shootout goal.
Around the League
- Mike Green had two goals and an assist, Michael Nylander and Brooks Laich both added a goal and an assist and the Washington Capitals defeated the Ottawa Senators, 6-3.
- Scott Clemmensen stops Brad Richards and Martin St. Louis in a shootout to help the Maple Leafs pull out a 4-3 win over the Lightning.
- Ladislav Nagy had his third career hat trick and added two assists for his second career five-point game, and the Los Angeles Kings scored a season-high five power-play goals in a 9-2 rout of the Chicago Blackhawks.
