Red Wings 4 – Stars 1: The Red Wings came into game 6 on a mission. They looked like a determined team. They looked like a team that didn’t want to let their recent slipups affect where they felt they belong, the Stanley Cup finals.

The Red Wings didn’t want to leave anything to chance so they came out firing on all cylinders by getting 3 first period goals from Kris Draper, Pavel Datsyuk and Dallas Drake. That put them up early and for good as they won game 6 over the Stars 4-1 to eliminate them and clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Henrik Zetterberg added a short-handed goal early in the second period to all but clinch it.

Red Wings goalie Chris Osgood was pretty bored for most of the game. The Stars never really tested him until he got beat in the third by Stephane Robidas’ goal during a power play. That was the only sign of life that the Stars showed in the game though.

Here is the closing seconds and some postgame footage.
