NBA Wrap: Texas teams keep winning just won’t lose… except the Mavs

So it’s pretty nice living in Houston right now. Theres a big buzz about the Rockets even though they are without Yao, no one is worried. The Rockets are ballin right now.

Last night the Rockets went into Dallas and put a beatin on the Mavs (which is always a good thing), 113-98. The play that pretty much sealed the deal for the Rockets was an alley oop from Rafer Alston to Tracy Mcgrady in the fourth quarter. Afterwards, T-mac looked over at the Mavs bench and just smiled.

Spurs 108 – Pacers 97

The Spurs are another Texas team that has just been playing off the chain lately. They won their 11th straight game last night in their 108-97 win over the Spurs.

Their success has been mainly due to the fact that Manu Ginobili has been the best 2 guard in the league over the last month and a half (besides Kobe). Ginobili had another stellar game last night scoring 28 points on 10-13 shooting.

Ginobili’s play in the game was great but his defense on his irate coach could use some work.

“I tried to box him out,” Ginobili said of his unsuccessful attempt to block coach Gregg Popovich, who was ejected. “I could have done better.”

Bulls 107 – Cavaliers 96

LeBron had a little bit of heat left over after his 50 point night in New York.  He had a big first half with 26 points but shot poorly in the second half and the Bulls pulled away for the 107-96 win.  LeBron can’t do it alone every night.
