NBA Wrap: Pistons D shuts the Mavs down
Pistons dominate the Mavs
Rasheed Wallace called it. He said before the game that the Pistons would need to go inside on the undersized Mavs to win the game. Thats exactly what they did and it was extremely effective. The whily center hit a fadeaway late in the third quarter to help the Pistons pull away from the Mavs.
Sheed made sure to add his take on it, screaming: “He can’t guard me!” toward the Dallas bench.
Dallas had a rough go of things too on the offensive end. The Pistons did a good job of taking away everything that the Mavs do well. They even held them on a stretch where they missed 16 straight shots over a 8 1/2 minute span in the first and the second quarters.
The final score to this one sided game was 90-67. Ouch. Dallas isn’t welcome in Detriot and they made that clear.
Around the League
- Kobe Bryant put up 19 points in the opening period on his way to finishing with 30 on 10-of-15 shooting, and the Lakers had no need for the newly acquired Pau Gasol in a 103-91 victory over the Wizards.
