NBA All Star game wrap: East wins All Star game, LeBron takes MVP

Published by houroc under Basketball

lebron12.jpgLeBron James and Ray Allen lead the way for the East in one of the better NBA All Star games in recent memory. Ray Allen finished with 28 points including 3 straight 3 pointers in the final minutes to shift the momentum back to the East.

LeBron scored 27 points including a monster dunk that gave the East a lead they wouldn’t give up again with only 55 seconds left. He won the MVP for the contest, even though honestly I don’t agree with it. They should’ve given it to Ray Allen because his shooting was what got them back into the game. If it wasn’t for his sharpshooting they probably wouldn’t have come away with the W.

Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Roy and Amare Stoudemire all played well for the West. Each one had 18 points, with hometown favorite Chris Paul adding 16 points and 14 assists.

Kobe Bryant made an appearance in this one but he was only in for 3 minutes before being seated and he didn’t return. I don’t really know what the point of that was but I don’t play the game for a living so what do I know?
