Royals 0 - Red Sox 7: Jon Lester is 24 years old but he's already accomplished a lot more than a lot of guys way older than him. He has beaten cancer, he pitched in the World Series clincher and now he has a no hitter on his resume. Not too bad, his next plans are to walk on the moon and cure AIDs.

Anyway, last night Lester threw his first complete game in the Majors and it just so happened to be a no hitter as he completely shut the Royals bats down in the Red Sox 7-0 win.

Lester allowed only two baserunners (on walks) the whole night and he also got a lot of great defensive help from his teammates.

Here is a video of the closing moments.

Cardinals 8 - Padres 2: Things aren't looking good for the Padres right now. First they lose their ace pitcher and then they get a hurtin put on them by Albert Pujols and the Cardinals. This hasn't been the best of weeks for them. Pujols hit two mighty home runs, and Cesar Izturis and Ryan Ludwick also had homers as the Cardinals beat the Padres 8-2.

Cubs 7 - Astros 2: Geovany Soto had a 3 run inside the park home run that should've been a regular home run but he is content with it. “Never in my whole life had I had an inside-the-park home run,” Soto said. His home run plus a home run by Aramis Ramirez helped the Cubs to the 7-2 win over the Astros.

Phillies 0 - Nationals 4: Tim Redding increased his streak of scoreless innings on the Phillies to 13 and 1/3 innings as he shut them down last night to help the Nationals to the 4-0 win. Lastings Milledge added two doubles and two RBIs to help him break out of his minor funk.

Rays 7 - A's 6 (F-13): It took 13 innings to decide this matchup between the Rays and the A's but in the end it was a 2 run home run by Evan Longoria and some key pitching by Jason Hammel that was the difference. Hammel pitched 3 scoreless innings in the extra innings after not pitching for 11 days. I guess the rest helped.
