McNair calls it quits

Ravens quarterback Steve McNair retires after 13 seasons
I don’t know if this helps Baltimore with their current quarterback controversy or hurts them but either way, Steve McNair has had enough. McNair announced that he will be retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons.
McNair leaves a great legacy. He will forever be known as one of the toughest and most versatile players to ever play the game. He was the epitome of a warrior by playing hurt for most of the last half of his career and still being more productive than most QB’s. Whenever it seemed like he took too many poundings and he was down for good, he always got back up.
McNair is one of only 3 quarterbacks to amass more than 30,000 yards passing and at least 3,000 rushing. The other two are Fran Tarkenton and Steve Young. Pretty good company.
During his career, McNair was named co-mvp and led the Titans to a Super Bowl appearance. He came up one yard short of winning it.

Sadly this will probably be what McNair is most remembered for. Eight years ago at Super Bowl XXIV against St. Louis at the Georgie Dome in Atlanta, McNair hit wide receiver Kevin Dyson at the six on a play that started at the 10-yard-line. Rams Linebacker Mike Jones wrestled him down just one stinkin yard away.
Oh well. You will definitely be missed Steve.
