Back again… as if I never left

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Ok so it's been a long week and a half but I am back online and ready to go harder.  Athletes who are fuckin up everywhere beware.  I will be calling you out.  Have a nice day... :-D

The show must go on

Ok so you guys are probably wondering where I've been and why I haven't been updating.  Well I'm still alive and ok.  The past couple of weeks have been crazy as far as my computer goes.

First I download a trojan from a torrent site.  Which really sucked.  People who make viruses and trojans and things of that sort should die a slow death by a botched surgery with needles poking them and their eyeballs.

Anyway, I did my best to remove the trojan but there still seem to be traces of it on my computer.  UGH!!!! WTF.... YOU LOSERS NEED TO GET A LIFE!!!

So then after dealing with that for a few days and trying to get my computer together, my internet gets cut off and I won't have the money to pay for it to be put back on until probably next week.  SUCKS!!!

Oh well.  So right now I've snuck into the job I was just fired from about a month ago at the Methodist Hospital and I'm updating.  LoL!  Getting on the computer was the reason I got fired in the first place.  Hopefully they don't catch me... :-P

Why you need to buy your girlfriend and Wii fit

Taking today off

Ok today I will be working on other projects that need to get done as soon as possible so I probably won't be updating SportFiends and if I do it will probably be later.  Yeah I will probably write a couple of quick updates later.  I don't want to leave you guys hanging.

Return of the Wrap

Ok due to some recent changes in my lifestyle I will be writing the sports wrap again.  I will go into those life change details a little later but for now, enjoy the sports wraps that I will be writing this and every morning.

I think writing the wraps on the weekend will be my biggest challenge because my weekends are normally very very busy.  I don't have normal weekends like someone my age I guess.  I can't just sleep in.  Oh well.  All of my struggles and the turmoil in my life is helping me to build very strong character.

I will not lose.  I will win.

Kornheiser takes a buyout: Washington Post won’t be the same

kornheiser2xy31.jpg

Tony Kornheiser announced that he will be retiring from the Washington Post on his Radio Show yesterday. The DC Sports blog has more info about his announcement on the show.

As much as I hate Tony Kornheiser on MNF, I love him on PTI. Unlike many bloggers, I really didn't get a chance to read him much in thepost because I am not from the DC area. Being from New Jersey I usually only read the NY Times and the NJ Star Ledger. Even so, I have a lot of respect for Kornheiser, he has been doing it a long time yet he isn't like most old guys who constantly bash bloggers and he's actually really funny.

“All I ever wanted to be was a newspaper writer,” he said, which is not something that anyone under the age of 30 will ever say again. “This other stuff is great, but I don’t care about it,” he continued. “In my mind that’s what it says on the headstone, it says ‘newspaper guy.’ “

But he also said he signed the papers to take the Post's buyout last night, after working here for, I believe, 29 years. He said he still might contract with The Post to do his Talking Points videos and his Page 2 excerpts, and he said some people in the leadership asked him to stay but didn't really insist, and even though he'll keep doing PTI and the radio show and MNF, he said he feared he'd never have the moral high ground again.

Thankfully he will still do PTI. :-D.

Buzz Bissinger hates blogger too: What else is new

leitch.jpg

H.G. "Buzz" Bissinger who is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of Friday Night Lights was on a panel with deadspin blogger Will Leitch to discuss the future of Journalism and about how the face of sports media is changing. That didn't happen though.

What was supposed to be an intelligent, adult conversation turned into nothing more than an old guy crying about how bloggers are idiots.

"This guy, whether we like it or not, is the future," Bissinger said, while pointing his finger at Leitch. "The future in the hands of guys like you is really going to dumb us down to a degree that I don't think we can recover from."

Of course he has no source of information, he didn't know the difference between a blog post and a blog comment and honestly, I'd be surprised if he has ever actually read a blog in his life.

This is just another example of an old white guy who is angry about the fact that the world is changing and that there are more voices out there now to compete with. In the past, it was nothing but old white guys talking to other old white guys and Bryant Gumbell, but now the youth of this nation have a voice. Nevermind appreciating that there is more room for discussion and the fact that the people actually love it, they'd rather go on rants where they make themselves look like idiots.

I commend Leitch for maintaining his composure and not sinking to this guys level. It only made him look worse.

Watch NBA playoffs live on with PC: The best PC Satellite TV software

My cable is cut off again. I couldn't afford to continue paying ridiculous amounts for Cable TV but being the Sport Fiend that I am, I had to watch my sports. What to do what to do.

A friend of mine told me about a service that he has been using for a few years called Satellite TV for PC. I gotta admit, at first I was very skeptical. I thought that it would be too good to be true but I didn't want to miss any of the action going on in the sports world so I figured I would just give it a shot and see what happens.

My first impression was great. I made my payment and I was able to download the software and have it up and running within a half hour. I have had a few minor issues getting some channels along to way but the support team that they have is great.

Satellite TV for PC turned out to be an even better investment than I thought because I was able to watch all the NBA games I wanted and right from my computer. Normally you would have the pay the cable or satellite companies even MORE money to get that kind of access not with Satellite TV for PC.

Overall I'd say that I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and I was very very skeptical at first. I would give this service 5 stars and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is planning on watching the crazy NBA playoffs. This year is going to be even better than last year.
