Ok so this is has been going on for far too long. I remember being young and watching Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman flop all over the place helping the Bulls to NBA Championships. Now we have modern day floppers like Manu Ginobili, Raja Bell, and Dirk Nowitzki.
Well finally, after all these years the NBA is finally cracking down on the constant flopping. They’ve announced that they will be imposing fines on theatrical floppers. THANK YOU!! Starting next year they will have everyone on the lookout:
The league office has yet to determine exact fine amounts for offending flops and how fines might escalate for repeat offenders, but in-game arena observers and video reviewers will be instructed to report instances of theatrical flopping for potential punishment as part of postgame reports on officiating and other matters.
I don’t know what took them so long but at least they’re doing it now.
During last nights game between the Celtics and the Pistons Rajon Rondo pulled off a pretty nice crossover and everyones favorite baller turned announcer Mark Jackson makes a reference to Beyonce, is he trying to say something?
First the Knicks trade Patrick Ewing to the Sonics, which was the beginning of the end of their reign as a powerhouse in the East, and now the Knicks don’t even give Patrick Ewing an call for an interview for the recently filled Head Coaching position.
Besides the fact the Patrick Ewing is one of the greatest Knicks of all time, he has actually been a pretty good assistant Coach in Orlando working with Magic. He works closely with Dwight Howard and Dwight has made considerable improvement over the years. With Ewing’s help, the sky is the limit for Dwight now:
Mike D’Antoni was put on the spot about the issue and he said t hat he’d consider Ewing for an assistant position but I wouldn’t hold me breathe.Ewing shared his feelings about the whole situation:
“There’s nobody who is an assistant coach who doesn’t want to be a head coach,” said Ewing, who has been an assistant for five seasons and is credited with lifting center Dwight Howard to the next level. “Unless you’ve already been a head coach and you’re older and you’re just putting in hours until you retire. I’m young. I’d definitely want to be a head coach one day. And I’m disappointed I didn’t get a call, yeah.
“I think I’m an up and coming coach. I think I’m going to be a good head coach one day. Even if I don’t get the job, I felt I deserved at least to get an interview.”
What goes around comes around for the Knicks though. After they traded him they just haven’t been able to get things together. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to the Knicks again but don’t be surprised if it does. Karma is a bitch.
The champions of the Canadian Hockey League are awarded the MasterCard Memorial Cup. This year the winners were the Spokane Chiefs and somehow when the cup is awarded to the American team, they manage to smash it two pieces.
The funny part is they try to put it back together but it just doesn’t work out. Hopefully no one does this to the Stanley cup.
Before the season started, the Tigers were many peoples pick for the AL central… well thats not really workin out like they expected.
Everyone on the team is struggling. Even Jim Leyland lost his cool and shared his thoughts about the situation.
Well now we know why Carlos Guillen has been struggling lately.
“He can hardly move — he’s got hemorrhoids so bad,” Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Tuesday. “He’s been playing with hemorrhoids that probably need to be lanced. He probably shouldn’t have been out there (third base on Monday).”
Ok so I’m starting to see more and more why Soccer is such a popular sport in Brazil. Meet Laisa Andrioli… Officially the hottest soccer player on earth.
Andrioli is a 20 year old brazilian Soccer player who plays for the national team. She is getting a lot of attention right now on and off the field… and for good reason.
Now I guarantee if the United states female soccer players looked like this, we would watch it much more but they do so it’s official. I’m definitely makin a trip to Brazil.
If thats not enough, heres a video shoot of her. Now I see why they call it the beautiful sport.
Ok so if you are a Spurs fan you are probably irate right now that your team is down 3-1 in this series.
During the final moments of last nights game the refs blew a call that would’ve at least given the Spurs to the chance to tie the game. Brent Barry got the inbound pass and he does a pump fake to catches Derek Fishers of guard, Fisher jumps up and comes down on Barry but they didn’t make the foul call.
Here is a very strange video I stumbled across today. It features the Lakers Sasha Vujacic and his evaluation of game 1 against the Spurs…. Well sort of.
