The new blueprint for the NFL in L.A.
So apparently there is someone who is crazy enough to try and bring the NFL back to Los Angeles. Ed Roski, whos a billionaire developer, is interested in making the venture. Why he thinks he can succeed where so many other before him failed, I don’t know but he’s goin for it.
From LA times:
“I think this is important for Los Angeles, for the fabric of the city,” said Roski, who along with Philip Anschutz built Staples Center. “The city has done real well without the NFL, and the NFL has done real well without the city. But I think it’s important to have a professional football team in Los Angeles.”
Roski’s proposal is different from most because he controls the land necessary to build the stadium, training facilities and related development; and he already has a certified environmental impact report for the site.

Their goes is to have the Stadium complete by 2011 and to have the team in place by 2009. From there they would play at the Coliseum or Rose Bowl as a temporary home in the interim.
Good luck to whichever team potentially ends up in LA. LA has traditionally been a bad place for NFL teams. Both the Rams and the Raiders have been to the Super Bowl at least once since leaving back in 1994 and they haven’t looked back.
Chad Johnson says he won’t attend any Bengals functions, demands trade
If there was any doubt about whether Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson wants out of Cincy, he just made it clear as day.
The cause of Chad coming out and saying that he won’t participate was a statement by Bengals Quarterback Carson Palmer in which he indicated that Johnson said that he would be at mini-camp in June.
“I want to make this very clear,” Johnson said Wednesday. “I don’t know where he got that. I made no assertion to Carson that I would do that. Nothing has changed from what I’ve been saying for three months that I don’t want to play for the Bengals.”
Johnson made one of his strongest statements in saying he is not planning on reporting to any team functions because he wants to be traded.
“I want to be traded before the draft, and if that doesn’t happen, I want to be traded as soon as possible,” Johnson said. “I don’t intend on reporting to anything.”
The Bengals and Marvin Lewis have continued stating that they have no intention of dealing Johnson but it seems clear that he doesn’t want to be there. We’ll see how it plays out

Check out this blooper by Corey Brewer. I’m sure this isn’t how Corey Brewer envisioned ending his Rookie campaign but hey, shit happens. This was the funniest play I seen this year. Its going to be in numerous bloopers in the future. Poor Corey Brewer…I hope it doesn’t ruin his self-confidence. Then again, he plays for the T-Wolves, that would ruin anyones confidence. This play pretty much sums up their season.

My cable is cut off again. I couldn’t afford to continue paying ridiculous amounts for Cable TV but being the Sport Fiend that I am, I had to watch my sports. What to do what to do.
A friend of mine told me about a service that he has been using for a few years called Satellite TV for PC. I gotta admit, at first I was very skeptical. I thought that it would be too good to be true but I didn’t want to miss any of the action going on in the sports world so I figured I would just give it a shot and see what happens.
My first impression was great. I made my payment and I was able to download the software and have it up and running within a half hour. I have had a few minor issues getting some channels along to way but the support team that they have is great.
Satellite TV for PC turned out to be an even better investment than I thought because I was able to watch all the NBA games I wanted and right from my computer. Normally you would have the pay the cable or satellite companies even MORE money to get that kind of access not with Satellite TV for PC.
Overall I’d say that I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and I was very very skeptical at first. I would give this service 5 stars and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is planning on watching the crazy NBA playoffs. This year is going to be even better than last year.

Neither of these teams have anything to play for on the last game of the season but Richard Jefferson still decided to embarass Okafor. Not only did he put Okafor on numberous posters to be produced but if the photographers got a good shot, you may be able to see some of his blood as it squits out.

Mets fan dies after falling over railing at Shea
A man who went to the Mets game against the Nats last night lost his life when he lost his balance on an escalator and fell two stories to his death.
The mans name was Antonio Nararainsami. He was 36 years old and he wasn’t at the game alone. He several relatives including two young daughters when he fell in a section below the left field stands and landed on a concrete floor. Ouch.
