According to The Landry Hat, LaRon Landry may have intentionally tried to ruin Terry Glenn’s return to the field yesterday. Terry Glenn was coming off a devastating knee injury which has had him out for the whole season and after only the second pass to him, Redskins rookie LaRon Landry tries to take him down by sliding at him legs.
I haven’t known Landry to a dirty player but he certainly hits hard. I was able to catch a couple of Redskins games this season and I’ve seen him put some hits on guys that would make former Redskins heavy hitter Sean Taylor proud.
“From what I heard, the guy was really trying to take me out,” Glenn said. “So now I look back on it, yeah, I think it was intentional, because he could’ve stayed back. If I’m running in for the ball like that, why is he coming at my knees? He’s a young guy,” Glenn said. “And hey, I guess he wanted to play a little dirty, I don’t know, I’m not sure.”

When your playing the Bears, you basically have two options. If you choose to kick the ball to Devin Hester, it’s highly possible that he will spin, hurdle, juke or whatever he needs to do to make it to the end zone in a matter of seconds. Your other option is to just not kick to him.
You would’ve thought that the Saints got the memo, especially considering that they had a possibility of making the playoffs on the line. Either they didn’t read it or they just chose to ignore it but Devin Hester definitely did his part to remind them in yesterdays game.
The Bears amazing all purpose player returned punt for a score and also caught a 55 yard TD pass from Kyle Orton for another score. He broke the single season record for kick returns for touchdowns with six. He had four punt returns and two kickoffs for touchdowns. The previous record was five held by none other than Devin Hester. He set the record last season as a rookie.
Watch the return from yesterday where Hester made Saints special teams players look silly.

Congratulations to Devin Hester for officially establishing himself as the best kick returner ever, period.

Of course Randy Moss and Tom Brady got their respective touchdown records. They both needed two touchdowns to become the leaders in passing touchdowns (50) and receiving touchdowns (23) in a season. They hooked up for Brady’s only two touchdowns of the game.
Little Eli Manning played his heart out in this one, in the first half. He actually looked like a decent NFL quarterback throwing 22/32 for 251 yards and four touchdowns. Not too shabby but one interception was very costly to the Giants.
When the Giants were up by 12 in the third quarter, I actually allowed myself the chance to think they may be able to pull off the upset. Oops.
So evil has prevailed, for now. Need proof that they are evil, just ask Pats NT Vince Wilfork. He should be suspended for poking Brandon Jacobs in the eye. The Pats are going to get whats coming to them. Karma is no joke and they have been lying, cheating and scratching eyes to get wins. They will get whats coming to them.
The 15-0 Patriots will be going for regular season perfection tonight. After all of the trials and tribulations of that the Pats had this season they have the opportunity to go undefeated and have a perfect season playing the Giants in Giants stadium tonight.
“We’ve got a lot of records at stake, the most important one being the 16-0,” quarterback Tom Brady said Friday. “I hope we achieve that. It’d be a great feat for the team. We’d go down as the only team to be 16-0, so that’s the goal I’ve got in mind.”
The Patriots’ historic run created so much interest that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell yielded this week and gave CBS and NBC permission to simulcast the game, which originally was to be shown only on the NFL Network.
Brady is two touchdown passes shy of breaking Peyton Manning’s season mark of 49 set in 2004. Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss needs one touchdown catch to tie Jerry Rice’s record of 22 set in 1987.
I hate the Patriots. I hate them more than the average fan. What they have accomplished is nothing short of amazing though. To win 15 games in the NFL is a serious accomplishment. Anyway, Go Giants!
Marcus Camby got a triple double last night against the Bucks. The hard way. Scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks. He bullied Yi all night. Check out the video:

They didn’t win the game but that didn’t really concern Shaquille Oneal against the Cavs. He looked reminiscent of the old shaq almost breaking down the rim.

Reminded me of the first time I saw this one. Man Shaq was skinny then.

Ouch.

Louis Williams is going to be a name that people are going to know next year. He will be a breakout star. For now though, watch him beat Dwayne Wade off the dribble baseline for the dunk. Nice.

Red Wings Blank the Blues
Chris Osgood stopped 20 shots for his 45th career shutout, leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues. Center Valtteri Filppula scored twice to pace the Red Wings, who won for the fifth time in their last six games and improved to 27-7-3 overall. St. Louis, playing in front of its largest home crowd of the season, fell to 18-13-3.
Sens top the Sabres
Dany Heatley had a goal and two assists, Martin Gerber made 29 saves and the Ottawa Senators beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-3. Wade Redden added a goal and assist for the Senators, who scored three times in the second period. Antoine Vermette, Mike Fisher and Daniel Alfredsson also scored for Ottawa, which has won two straight and eight of its last 10.

Skiles-less Bulls lose to the Spurs
The Bulls fired Scott Skiles on Christmas eve. Merry Christmas. I guess Santa must have given them coal for Christmas because their next game was against the Spurs. The Bulls didn’t stand much of a chance against the defending champs. Spurs cruised to an easy 94-79 win at home against the Bulls.
It was a tough first game for Bulls interim coach Pete Myers. Tony Parker had 28 points in the win. They didn’t even need Manu Ginobili, whos scoring a career high this season. He was out with a sprained left index finger.
The Spurs are on top of their game right now. You can’t beat them at home, they are 15-1 at home and 9-4 against teams with winning records.
Pistons all over the Nets at Izod Center
The Pistons were just being the Pistons all night last night against the Nets. The Pistons took their sixth straight victory, beating the Nets 101-83 in a lop-sided victory. Rasheed Wallace said, “we’re just hooping.”
“Guys are just ready,” Wallace said.
Keep an eye on the Pistons this year. They’re already starting to pull away from the pack with superior defense, they are one of only two teams with an assist-turnover ratio higher than 2-1, and all 5 of their starters are averaging 10+ points per game. They may just be the top team right now.
Celtics win in Cali
The Celtics started off their current west coast trip with a 89-69 point win against the Kings last night. All that they really needed was their 33-5 second quarter run and they were able to take an easy win. They are going to have to try a lot harder to win a game against the some the elite west coast team though.
