patwhite.jpgAfter helping Louisville get back in the game by losing three tough fumbles, Pat White was able to scamper into the endzone on his final carry to keep West Virginia's national title hopes still alive.

White scored a 50 yard run with 1:36 remaining to put the Mountaineers up 38-31. They would go on to win by that same score.

Brian Brohm was able to bring Louisville back into the game after being down 31-14 midway through the fourth quarter. They were able to tie the game on a field goal with 3:05 left. Setting Pat White up for the game winning run.

The road to the big east title goes through West Virginia this year. I'm looking forward to their game on November 24th at home against #16 U Conn.

Kentucky loses to Gardner-Webb, badly

I thought Billy Gillespie was supposed to be a better coach? In Kentucky's second game under new coach Gillespie, the Kentucky Wildcats lost to the mighty Gardner-Webb last night. Wow. It's still early in the season so they still have time to come back but Billy Gillespie is not off to a good start. They were booed in their own arena. Ouch.

The Celtics continue Bostons dominance over Denver

Bostons dominance over all sports and over Denver in particular continued last night. The Boston Celtics big 3 combined for 71 points in their 119-93 win over the Denver Nuggets last night. The crazy part is that the big three are looking to improve, to see what they can do better. Wow! Boston is for real ladies and gentlemen.

Not so soon Pacman

Adam Pacman Jones Is Officially out for the year

adam.jpg
So its the end for Pacman, at least until the end of the year. Pacman went to New York last week to talk with the NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell about the possibility of him returning this year. Goodell let Jones know today that he still hadn't changed his mind.In order to return Pacman needed to prove that he was getting his life back on track by doing community service and taking care of his legal troubles. His legal troubles haven't been resolved and the best community service that he did was buying tickets to a pay-per-view wrestling event that he was in. Needless to say, this didn't convince Rodger Goodell. You have to think that its a wrap for Goodell with the Titans. They are 6-2 without him and only one game back of the Colts for first place in the division. Their defense is playing better without him.Pacman is a dumbass. Oh well. Better luck next year.adam.jpg

Omar Minaya will meet with A-Rod, Cabrera & Willis on the market, more

gal_fp_11_06_2007.jpg

A-Rod moving uptown?

So Omar Minaya, the Mets GM, is scheduled to meet with Alexa Rodriguez and his agent Scott Boras this week.  The Mets are considered to be one of the teams that are highly interested in employing A-Rods services.  The number of teams considering that are in the A-Rod hunt is unclear right now.  His agent has stated that they will discuss offers and keep things as confidential as possible.

First of all, Alex Rodriguez is an amazing player but what has he done in the postseason?  New York is still New York.  The Yankees expectations are a little higher but the media will still rip him apart even if he is wearing a Mets uni.  Secondly, The Mets already have a Third basemen and a Short-Stop in David Wright and Jose Reyes.  Wright has stated that he would be willing to move to second base if they sign A-Rod but would he really be ok with it if it actually happens?  Only time will tell but as a Mets fan I say, let Rodriguez leave New York.  He's not built for it.

Andy Pettitte Opts out

Andy Pettitte declined on his $16 contract with the Yankees next year.  He claims that he doesn't even know if he will be pitching at all next year.  He has stated that at this point though, his only options are the Yankees or retirement.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman has stated that they not only want Pettitte back but they need him back.  I'd have to agree with him on that.  They have a few young pitchers coming along but no leaders.

Quickies

  • Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis will be put on the trade market this week.
  • Nationals met with Andruw Jones this week.  They have also met with Torii Hunter and Aaron Rowand

Curt Schilling Agrees to $8m deal

schilling.jpg

It's been reported that curt schilling and the Red Sox have agreed to a one year $8 million dollar deal.  Schilling can also earn to $5m in bonuses over the course of the year.

Curt Schilling turns 41 this year and has lost some velocity.  Many people feel this may be his last year.  However few can doubt that he comes through in the Clutch.  In 2004 he was 21-6 and lead the Red Sox to their first world series since 1918.  Despite having a 9-8 record during the regular season, Schilling went 3-0 this postseason, improving his postseason record to 11-2.

Joe Torre signs with Dodgers for 13 Million

2007_11_01t173532_450×315_us_baseball_dodgers_torre.jpgTwo weeks after walking away from the Yankees, Joe Torre signed a 3 year deal with LA Dodgers for $13 million to become their manager. Torre, who grew up in Brooklyn rooting against the Dodgers, was hired Thursday as their manager — a half-century after they moved west.

I'm happy for Joe because I didn't like the way they treated him in New York during his departure. He lead the team to the playoffs 12 straight seasons. So he hasn't won a world series in a long time, like thats an easy accomplishment. In NewYork its always, "what have you done for me lately."

The offer they made him for 1 year was BS. They didn't want him to take the deal. They wanted it to seem like he didn't want to be there by offering him a crap deal. Oh well. Even though I hate the Dodgers, best of luck to Joe this year.

Sonics to Oklahoma City?

captb8d532360b1b4e378f29240023b9a8d0suns_supersonics_basketball_waet119.jpg

Ok so Clay Bennnet, the Seattle Supersonics Owner announced that he plans to move the Sonics to Oklahoma City. Of course the few fans of the Sonics that there are don't want that to happen. Especially after things were looking up for the Sonics with the acquisition of the 19 year old Rookie Kevin Durant out of Texas. Last night he had 27 points in the Sonics home opener against the Suns. They lost the game but Durant showed a lot in his first game in Key Arena.

Bennett is trying to get out of the last two years of the Sonics lease at KeyArena. The city of Seattle wants to hold the Sonics to the contract. During last nights game Sonics fans often chanted "SAVE OUR SONICS."

Despite all of this, Bennett seems to have his mind made up about moving the Team. He claims that the team lost $17 last because of their lease last year.

My only beef with this announcement is that the season just started. It's going to be a huge distraction to the team and its going to be a media frenzy in Seattle. Thats the last thing a young team needs as they are trying to mesh and put together a productive season. Good luck Durant.

Martina Hingis accused testing positive for Cocaine at Wimbledon

Martina Hingis, the former winner of five grand slam titles, tested positive for Cocaine at Wimbledon this year. She denied using cocaine. She announced her retirement from tennis today in Zurich. She was formerly the number 1 ranked player in the world. She was currently ranked 19th.

This year at wimbledon she lost in the third round. I wonder if she snorted a couple of lines before the match. Oh well. Shes retiring.
